Happy Halloween! Over the next week, in the lead up to Halloween I will be sharing some fun meal ideas to serve up for a scary evening!
We are starting with a fun side. I call them the potat-oh-my-god they’re scary. (I’m frighteningly bad at puns).
These are super easy to make.
The trick to this side is in the shopping. When buying your potatoes try to get the widest selection you can. This means the the fatter and more circle shaped in the middle the better. The roundness makes for a much more circular face once sectioned.
All you need to do is chop your sweet and normal potato into centimetre thick slices. Then, with a sharp ended knife start cutting out some scary faces. Have a look through the photos for some face ideas.
Next, drizzle with olive oil, season and put them in a 200 degree celsius oven for 30-40 minutes (or until golden and crunchy).
It’s that easy. You will be surprised how quickly you can cut out the faces too!
Keep your eyes wide open for the main course…
