Next week I am off to Cambodia! As I am starting to get ready, I thought this week I would show you everything that is going in my toiletries bag. It will be hot and sweaty, so I have designed this curation specifically to the climate. Lets start with…
I have recently been taking much better care of my skin. Being only 22 things aren’t that dire, but I am starting to notice a few changes. I’m a believer in that taking care in your twenties will make for a better thirties! Anyway, I don’t want to take time out in my skincare routine for two weeks, however, also don’t need to be packing the full load. So, I have chosen the necessities. Starting with my new The Ordinary High-Spreadability Fluid Primer that is really light weight, so perfect in the warm weather. Next I’ll use my Cetaphil Suntivity, that provides SPF and some coverage. For taking off my makeup, for which I’ll be transferring into a smaller bottle, the Garnier Miceller Water is a holygrail. At the end of the day I will need my favourite facial moisturiser, Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free to put back all the goodness into my face. For the more fancy bits (this is me getting pedantic), I use The Ordinary Lactic Acid Peeling Formulation with their Alpha Arbutus. I will be doing a skincare post soon, but in the meantime click on the links and read up on this awesome brand. Lastly, for my aging 22 year old eyes, queue eye roll from my mother, I use Arbonne Hydrating Eye Creme, another light weight product.
I have been very select in choosing these products, and let me tell you why. Starting with the Maybelline Super Stay 24hr wear foundation, it is light weight and I’m hoping the 24hr wear factor might help with the humidity. I have gone with a darker matifying powder to aid a tan and hopefully hold some of my face on with massive sweat balls running down my forehead *cute*. L.A Girl Pro Conceal is my holograil (you can’t go past the price either) set with the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder will hold anything down. Next, I have chosen the Benefit Cheek Parade Palette to limit products as it includes two great bronzers, which you can use for contouring, and three blush options. In case I want to use a creme product, I’m throwing in my Revlon Creme Blush in Rougissant. Finally, my Morphe DD Highlight Palette gives me plenty of shimmer options, and can be doubled up on the eyes.
There is no holiday short cuts with eyebrows, so I’ll be sticking to my normal routine of Benefit’s Precisely My Brow Pencil and Maybelline’s Brow Drama sculpting mascara. For lashes in such tropical weather, a waterproof mascara is essential. It will allow you to swim and sweat as much as you like, even at the same time. I’ve chosen a number of waterproof smudgy pencils such as Revlon Colour Stay, Sephora Water Proof Eye Liner and Sephora Colour Shadow & Liner. With these pencils, the more smudged the better so no stress if you wipe your face and your lids shift. Finally, as I don’t want to take a whole palette I have packed a simple Sephora Colourful Collection Eyeshadow that will go with every look.
I cannot stress this enough… lipstick is the easiest thing to wear on holiday and look made up. With your holiday tan, sometimes it is literally all you need. In my opinion the brighter the better. I have packed one colour from every shade starting with Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Geranium. This coral colour will be very over used. Next I have two different Nars Velvet Lip Pencils, one a raspberry shade called Luxembourg and a hot pink called Yu. This formula is so hydrating and doesn’t shift or bleed around your lips. If I feel like having a serious person day, which I know just won’t happen, I have packed my favourite matte lip pencil, Maybelline Colour Drama in nude perfection.
Finally the essentials. Cotton buds, cotton pads, tweezers, brushes, beauty blenders and the list goes on. One thing I have forgotten many a time, however, is the Model Co Face Wipes. Again, I will put them in a skincare post, but before then do yourself a favour and grab these. They will CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
